Repeaters are used to help boost signals from the individual meters/transceivers back to the Gateway (central data collection device).  Typically, one repeater for every 25-35 meters is recommended, depending on construction and conditions.  The repeaters come with a transformer and plug into standard 120 VAC outlet.
